★★★★½
Fishers’ Loft’s licensed dining room looks out over the community of Port Rexton, the inn’s kitchen garden and greenhouse to Trinity Bay. In season, diners may see whales or icebergs.
The set menu is shaped by the availability of fresh produce from the kitchen garden and greenhouse, local fish and seafood in season, berries and mushrooms from surrounding hillside meadows and forests. We serve dinner by reservation and welcome our own guests as well as those not staying here.
Dinner
We serve a freshly prepared, 4-course dinner in our licensed dining room overlooking our kitchen garden and Trinity Bay where you may see an iceberg or whale in season. The kitchen draws from local markets for seafood and we use vegetables from our organic gardens when in season. We have two sittings, one at 5:00 p.m. to accommodate those who prefer to eat early, are interested in taking in a play at Rising Tide Theatre or have other evening plans. Children under the age of 8 are welcome at the 5:00 p.m. sitting. A second sitting is at 7:30 p.m. for a more leisurely dinner. We welcome visitors as well as our own guests to dine by reservation only. We seat guests in order of reservation, first in the outer dining room and then in the inner dining room.
Our dining room is scent free. We also can accommodate dietary restrictions if we know a day ahead of time.
Here is a typical dinner menu:
sorrel soup with black pepper crème fraîche
…
assorted garden greens with basil vinaigrette, pickled grapes and toasted pecans
…
cod with roasted leeks, potato purée and sesame brown butter
…
lemon mousse with wild berry compote
Breakfast

We have a table of fresh and dried fruits, nuts, hot and cold cereals, yogurt, tea or coffee and juice. Each morning we prepare a choice of either our breakfast special or house smoked bacon and eggs.
